Ambaji Temple

Ambaji Temple at the Arasur Hill in Banaskantha is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas and the most visited temple in North Gujarat. Uniquely, the temple has no idol — the Goddess is worshipped in the form of a Viso Yantra (a sacred geometric diagram inscribed on a golden plate). The yantra is considered so powerful that it is kept behind a curtain and shown to devotees only during special occasions. During the Bhadarvi Poonam fair (August-September), over 3 million devotees visit over three days, making it one of the largest temple fairs in India. The 999-step climb to Gabbar Hill behind the temple offers panoramic views.
