IndiGo Airlines has launched a new daily non-stop flight service between Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and Tirupati Airport (Renigunta), marking a significant boost to pilgrimage connectivity for North Indian devotees. The inaugural flight took off on March 3, 2026, with introductory fares starting at Rs 3,499.
The new route operates an Airbus A320neo aircraft with a capacity of 186 passengers. The morning flight departs Delhi at 6:15 AM and arrives in Tirupati at 8:45 AM, perfectly timed for devotees to reach Tirumala for darshan by afternoon. The return flight departs at 9:30 AM, arriving in Delhi by noon.
TTD Executive Officer welcomed the new connectivity, noting that approximately 30% of Tirupati pilgrims originate from North India but have historically been underserved by direct air routes. The new flight is expected to bring an additional 500-700 pilgrims daily from the Delhi NCR region.
IndiGo has also announced plans to introduce direct flights from Kolkata and Jaipur to Tirupati by June 2026, as part of its expanded pilgrimage tourism network. The airline is offering special bundle packages in collaboration with TTD that include flight tickets, accommodation at TTD guest houses, and pre-booked darshan slots.
