Birth of Maryada Purushottam Ram in Ayodhya
Morning Puja
Devotees wake early, bathe, and set up a puja altar with an idol or image of Lord Rama along with Sita, Lakshmana, and Hanuman.
Ramayana Recitation
Chapters from the Ramayana or Ramcharitmanas are recited throughout the day, focusing on the birth of Lord Rama in King Dasharatha's court.
Noon Aarti and Cradle Ceremony
At noon — the believed time of Rama's birth — a special aarti is performed and a small idol of baby Rama is placed in a decorated cradle and rocked.
Fasting and Prasad
Devotees observe a fast throughout the day and break it after sunset with sattvic food. Panakam (jaggery drink) and kosambari (lentil salad) are traditional offerings.
