The people of Vrindavan used to pray to Indra, the rain god, every year. One year, young Krishna said they should thank Govardhan Mountain instead, because it gives them grass for cows, water, and herbs. Indra got very angry!
Indra sent the biggest storm ever — thunder, lightning, and floods! Everyone was scared. But Krishna smiled, walked up to Govardhan Mountain, and lifted it up with just his little finger! All the villagers and their cows hid under the mountain like an umbrella. After seven days, Indra realized Krishna was no ordinary boy.
